Sasha Bershadsky is an Ayurvedic Doctor, founder of Ojas Oasis, and host of the Ojas Oasis podcast, where she explores the intersection of Ayurveda, yoga, and holistic healing with leading voices in the field. Through her clinical work and media platform, Sasha is part of a new generation of practitioners bringing the timeless science of Ayurveda into modern life.
She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communications Design from Syracuse University in 2011 and began her career as an Art Director in New York City. During that time, Sasha completed her first 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2017, where she was first introduced to the ancient science of Ayurveda—an encounter that would ultimately transform the course of her life and career.
Following this pivotal discovery, Sasha dedicated herself to the formal study of Ayurvedic medicine. She earned her Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist certification from the California College of Ayurveda in 2021 and later completed the Ayurvedic Doctor program at Kerala Ayurveda Academy in 2025, where she deepened her clinical training in traditional Ayurvedic diagnostics, herbal medicine, and therapeutic lifestyle protocols.
To further immerse herself in the yogic traditions that underpin Ayurvedic healing, Sasha completed a second 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Sattva Yoga Academy in Rishikesh, India in 2024, studying meditation, pranayama, and classical yogic philosophy at the foothills of the Himalayas.
Today, Sasha sees clients at the Ojas Oasis Ayurveda Clinic in Austin, Texas, where she offers personalized Ayurvedic consultations designed to address the root causes of imbalance and support digestive health, hormonal balance, nervous system regulation, and overall vitality. She also works with health seekers around the world through virtual consultations.
Through both her clinical practice and podcast, Sasha is passionate about helping people reconnect with their inner wisdom and restore balance through the timeless principles of Ayurveda.
DHARMA STORY
As the granddaughter of a medical doctor, the compassion and drive to heal human suffering is deeply rooted in Sasha’s Being. At 27, while living in New York City and working in corporate advertising, she did a yoga teacher training that would change the trajectory of her life. What struck her was the undeniable familiarity and resonance she had with Ayurveda, yoga’s sister science. It did not feel as though she was learning this ancient knowledge for the first time. It felt more like remembrance—as though she were picking it up where she left off in a previous life. An inner voice that began as a whisper became louder and louder until it was an undeniable ring, as though the Divine himself was calling her on the phone. Upon turning 28, she listened to that voice and bought a one-way ticket, setting forth on her Dharmic path with the California College of Ayurveda.
The same inner voice would lead her to India, where her studies began to deepen—from academic to experiential. She received 1 month of Panchakarma Therapy and took a course on Prasooti Tantra (Ayurvedic pregnancy practices), where she met her Guru. Her classmates were 7th generation Vaidyas (Ayurvedic doctors) and Medical Jyotishas (Vedic Astrologers) who not only taught her, but showed her, what Ayurveda truly was—a way of being. Her experience in India opened her eyes and heart to the depth and beauty of this wisdom science.
After a few weeks visiting Vrindavan, she was on her way to venture into the Himalayas, when officials at the state border stopped her and denied entry: COVID-19 had officially made its presence fully known and India was about to close its international border. All flights were getting cancelled, and she had about 24 hours to find a way home. It was by the grace of The Divine, and a very good friend, that she got out in time. But the world she came home to was very different, and very troubled. She was grateful to be back, but realized she needed to bring it all back with her: everything she saw, experienced and became in India.
Amid the pandemic and global dis-ease, there could be no better time to introduce Ayurveda, the ancient, timeless knowledge of how to prevent and reverse dis-ease at the root. Her love, respect, and gratitude for this knowledge deepens by the day as she practices Ayurvedic lifestyle and helps her patients heal on the deepest levels of their Being. Here and now, it is Sasha’s humble honor and Dharma to bring Ayurveda to the West.
Here’s to the journey, and the collective awakening.
